I spent a very exciting, energising morning at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Avanthi Group of Institutions, Hyderabad and interacting with educationists, teachers, parents, alums and students.

Established in 1992, in these 25 years, Avanthi’s Institutions have mentored 14 institutions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. I am delighted that India Today has ranked Avanti as one of the Top 10 Colleges in Twin Cities. Nearly 18,000 students are pursuing studies and over 7,000 people are employed. By all standards, phenomenal.

I congratulate Shri Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao garu for his vision and perseverance – better known as and more popular as Avanti Srinivas – a proof of what you have achieved; as well as every member of the institution. Without values, Avanthi Society would not have thrived for so long.

After reaching a certain age, we might not remember many of our school friends. But we are trying to catch up with them after a long gap, and courtesy technology applications like Facebook or WhatsApp, we reconnect and try to recreate our childhood memories.

I will share a small tip with all you young students. The single most trait that makes a person popular and successful throughout life is being transparent, good and fair to all, besides being good and fair to oneself.

Today, reduction in opportunities is making competition cut-throat. Everyone thinks that elimination of fellow competitor is only way to success. Winning together and collective success are definitely not popular contemporary concepts. This is a wrong way of understanding our lives, which goes beyond student phase. People who think ENDS alone are important are wrong. Nothing could be more important than to realise means are even more important.

We don’t inherit positive outlook. It has to be cultivated. In my view there are two prerequisites to positive outlook. We should be able to see things as they are; objectively. If we can’t see them and if they have to be imagined, then we should just imagine things as they can be realistically. Positive outlook is a by-product of objectivity and being realistic.

May this institution grow and all of you students achieve amazing success, achieved the right way.

Jai Hind!
