Development Initiative

Ever since the inception, the discretionary MP Local Area Development Funds (MPLADs) has been a great tool of initiating and delivering on development projects for Parliamentarians of both Houses. Since his first day as a Parliamentarian, MR. YS Chowdary had undertaken a proactive and diligent approach to reaching out to various constituents, identifying their needs and deploying funds for a fast turnaround and regular follow up.
A regular “topper” in performance of MPLAD disbursal and deployment, MR. YS Chowdary uses several modern methods, including social media and reporting systems to remain on top of all MPLAD projects, even as future projects are scouted and vetted for feasibility, impact, utility, and cost-time-benefit parameters.
MR. YS Chowdary has adopted two villages – Ponnavaram and Palaparru – in Andhra Pradesh as part of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), a rural development programme focusing upon development in villages, by bringing in several best practices, involving NGOs and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. He has successfully transformed them into modern villages.
